Ashley Barby

Founder & Producer of FashionTech Toronto | Chief Operating Officer at Specsy

Ashley Barby grew up in Alberta with a passion for fashion and her early sights set on Toronto (or even New York). With degree in hand, and the experience of a plum job with Holt Renfrew, she followed her heart and headed East. Her journey has taken her into the fascinating world of fashion and technology, including the launch of her own online luxury shopping experience for authentic pre-loved designer items. She has taken unexpected turns with two technology start-ups, most recently in the fashion technology space as Head of Marketing & Operations with Specsy - manufacturers of custom 3D printed fashion eyewear.

Through her bi-weekly blog, Sunny with Coffee, she shares positive vibes on life and lifestyle. Community engagement, from supporting local fashion colleges to mentoring new entrepreneurs, is at the heart of Ashley’s commitment to make the world a better place – and is also the driver behind her launch of FashionTech Toronto, a forum to connect innovators and leaders in the fashion and tech fields.
